Action Pistol (IPSC)Action Pistol Shooting and Practical Shooting are politically correct terms for Combat Shooting. This is a fast moving event in which the participant must be able to draw, shoot, move, and reload quickly and safely. There are many, many courses of fire. Each match we will shoot from three to five courses or stages. Each stage presents different shooting challenges and problems to be solved. Both accuracy and speed determine the final score of the shooter. For more information about this sport in general see the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) web site or the US organization, of which the Lewiston Pistol club is an affiliate, or the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). For information specific to the Lewiston Pistol Club events contact the Action Director, John Grimes. You may also be interested in some pictures and video from one of our events. Club MatchesAction matches are scheduled on the first Sunday of the month. All matches are at the Bernie Peterson Memorial Range on Lenville road outside of Moscow. Setup and registration starts at 9:00 AM with shooting starting at 10:00 AM. The entry fee is $10.00. Participants should bring eye and ear protection, a sturdy holster, a reliable handgun of at least .38 or 9mm caliber, magazines or speed loaders to hold at least 24 rounds, and a minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition.
